Welcome to the Institute (2007)
"Been patronised by a Doctor, lost in a queue, ignored in a ward, felt like shit, had to make do?"
You're invited to an evening's “entertainment” at Sunny Shores Residential Home where the cook is drunk, the wrong band has been booked and something is stirring in the potting shed.
Through a heady mix of live music, barely live actors, song, dance and dark surreal humour, this is a satirical side swipe at the fag end of the health service; a medical musical showdown between the forces of evil and the rest of us.
Think Green Wing with songs, think Kafka with gags.
With words and music by Leigh Stirling, directed by Garry Robson and design and puppets from Jo Pocock, one of the creators of SHOCK HEADED PETER.
